A Diplomate of Acupuncture is an acupuncturist who is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®). It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM). NCCAOM certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture as defined by the acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) profession. For additional information, about the Diplomate of Acupuncture, please visit the NCCAOM Website.
Since my own diagnosis with hEDS in 2022, I have sought out the most updated and high quality information on hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos and the many accompanying conditions (i.e. dysautonomia/POTS, MCAS, gastropareisis, MALS, etc.). I have attended the Global Learning Conferences held by the Ehlers Danlos Society in 2022 and 2023, and I plan to be at the upcoming conference in 2024 to continue my learning.
I am also in the Ehlers-Danlos Society's healthcare professionals directory.
Of course, each individual with hypermobile and the many other types of Ehlers-Danlos has a unique experience with their symptoms, much like a fingerprint or zebra's stripes. So I will always honor your own personal experience and wisdom of your body.
While acupuncture in itself is considered a form of energy work, I have also been trained as an apprentice of a follower of Solomon J. Wickey, an amish man who developed a powerful method of energetic healing involving special "release codes". You can learn more about his life and work in his biography.
Much like other forms of energy work, this technique aims to aid your body in the restoration of balance and to guide you towards healing (i.e. away from disease and disease-causing patterns). After about a decade of practicing energy work, my intuition guides all that I do in every treatment. As an acupuncturist, my healing intentions are conducted through each needle that I place.
